STEP demonstrated biogas Upgradation (CO2 capture) technology using novel DGC reactor at a biogas plant

STEP has successfully demonstrated biogas upgradation technology of our Principal, WRK Design & Services Ltd., UK to remove CO2 & H2S using proprietary water-based solvent- ABSOLV at commercial level in a biogas plant in Maharashtra. STEP & WRK worked on this project with United Envirotech P Ltd. (UEPL), Pune, who have set up several biogas plants in India. We jointly set up a 50 m3/hr biogas upgradation plant. During the trials, we have successfully demonstrated the process with methane purity increasing from 73% to > 98%; and >98% CO2 removal from initial level of 27%. More than 90% H2S  (less than 100 ppm in the stream) was also removed. We have also demonstrated regeneration & reusability of ABSOLV.
