Risk Assessment
A risk assessment is a careful examination of determining workplace hazards, evaluating the existing controls, rating and determining the significance of the risks.
Step1 Identify the hazards
Step 2 Decide who might be affected and how
Step 3 Evaluate the risks and decide on operational controls
Step 4 Implement Operational Control Procedure and periodically check their effectiveness
Step 5 Review and update if necessary
Risk assessment can be qualitative or quantitative.
Quantitative Risk Assessment study will cover risks due to hazardous material storages such as flammable material, Toxic gases, and combustible materials. The quantitative risk assessment will be performed using Process Hazard Analysis Software Tool (Phast) model.
Emergency Response plan
STEP also prepares Emergency Response Plan (ERP) for organizations. The plan will address requirements emergencies relate to operations, natural disasters or any other emergencies the organization might encounter. The plan will address to Emergency Types, Emergency Levels, Emergency Equipment, Emergency Response Leadership Structure, Emergency Response Leadership Procedures, The Emergency Operation Centers, Emergency Communication and Evacuation / Medical assistance.
Safety Audits and Safety Reports
The audits will focus on Occupational Health and Safety aspects with an emphasis on minimizing risks and related liabilities. The safety audit will cover inventories and records of Hazardous Material Storages, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Review of Operational Control Processes, Records, Permits and Compliance with Legislation Framework with respect to safety.
As per Manufacture Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals Rules 1989, Safety Audits and Safety Reports are mandatory for organizations manufacturing, storing, importing or handling hazardous chemicals.
